Intern Spotlight: My hands-on experience at AS

When first entering the office of Advocacy Solutions, I did not know what to expect. However, my nerves were calmed by the very welcoming group of people at AS. To sum up my experience here, what I enjoyed most was working hands-on on projects that were helpful for me in understanding the functions of an integrated public affairs firm. As a high school senior, prior to my internship, I’ve never been exposed to this line of work.

Although I was just an intern, there was always something for me to work on. The different projects I worked on kept me busy, and I still managed to enjoy myself. By working at AS, I learned more about specific community stakeholders, such as town managers and councils, that often play a key role in the issues we work on. I helped contribute to the Tobacco-Free Providence campaign, working toward building a city free from tobacco.

AS is an ideal workplace for me, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves an active environment, relying on every team member to carry out their job to the best of their ability, even interns. I’ve had a great experience for here at Advocacy Solutions.
