Alex Miller / Managing Director

Alex brings over a decade of zoning, regulatory, commercial real estate and government relations experience to Advocacy Solutions, where he helps clients navigate municipal, state and federal matters.

Prior to joining Advocacy Solutions, Alex worked in a key advisory role to the C-Suite of WhyHotel, a DC-based real estate hospitality company that operates turn-key, pop-up hotels in major cities across the country. In his role, Alex led Government Relations & Communications, with day-to-day oversight and execution of WhyHotel’s regulatory, government relations, and earned media strategies. Notably, Alex led the establishment of several new locations for WhyHotel in gateway markets including Washington DC, Seattle, and Houston, as the company closed over $35M with its Series A and Series B funding rounds.

Alex began his career working in commercial real estate in Manhattan, as an associate at Kaufman Organization. In 2010, Alex moved to Rhode Island to pursue a personal passion for public service, serving in multiple leadership roles advising state and federal leaders, including as a senior advisor to Congressman David Cicilline. Alex holds a B.A. in Psychology from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
